Anniversary Weekend Getaway

To celebrate our five year anniversary, we opted to enjoy the changing of the seasons by visiting Chattanooga, Tennessee. Staying in a tiny home along a mountain ledge allowed us to fully disconnect and immerse ourselves in nature.

The drive from St. Louis to Signal Mountain is just under 8 hours, not including a necessary stop at Prince's Hot Chicken in Nashville. Our 2-night stay included a short train ride, a cruise along the Tennessee River Gorge, and the most incredible mountain sunrises and sunsets viewed from our Airbnb at Mountain's Ledge.

Brunch at The Rosecomb

When planning such a short trip, deciding on where to eat is a difficult process. There were several places we wanted to visit during our quick getaway in Chattanooga, but unfortunately did not have the time for.

We were so pleased with our brunch experience at The Rosecomb, a beautiful property located in the historic Riverview neighborhood. The Appalachian influences at The Rosecomb shine through the setting, menu, and warm hospitality. We were so kindly greeted upon our arrival and promptly cared for throughout our stay. Soaking in the morning sun while listening to the garden birds chirp about was a lovely experience. If I were a local, I imagine I would visit The Rosecomb quite often!

The Southern Belle Riverboat

The highlight of our afternoon was a relaxing cruise along the Tennessee River. Aboard the Southern Belle Riverboat, we enjoyed the 3-hour Fall Foliage Sightseeing cruise, a tour of the Grand Canyon of the Tennessee River and the Tennessee River Gorge. Along the way guests marveled in the changing colors of the seasons and learned about the region through a live narration given by the boat captain.
